Journey: Words of the Rings, no book 34

of Gianni Vacchelli

The trip is a ' experience common to all human beings, as the body The eat, sleep and laughter. Travel, walk, get in motion, move, migrate and family arrangements are known in all ages, in every civilization and every latitude. And the theme of travel is so universally known and in the culture, literature, sacred texts, myths, in topical, rituals in the experiences of all civilizations. In this sense we could say that the journey is an archetypal dimension, original ontonomica of ' man. Of course we are not saying that the travel and then the theme of the trip are the same in all cultures and all ages. It seems almost obvious, but the simplification, the ' approval, lack of perspective-not only chronologically but also intercultural- are always lurking.

Borrowing some categories of the great philosopher and theologian Raimon Panikkar, we could say that travel is an invariant human, but not a universal culture. In fact, as Panikkar explains itself, there are invariant
human - everyone eats, everyone laughs, everyone has a body, dance, have some socializing, talking, but there are cultural universals, that there is no cultural value that can withstand universally, much less a priori. At any time there is a dominant myth that allows some cultural universals, but these vary with time. ... The fact that all people eat does not mean that the food has the same meaning for men and then produce the same results.
short, cross-cultural perspective that animates this short essay is important not to sin by easy reductionism. Meet the travel means meeting (also) a plurality of
' human experiences, the policromaticità of reality itself. We will come back.

The journey: a garden of symbols, a network of metaphors

The journey then, especially in the Western tradition, weaving a network is a truly impressive and metaphorical and garden of symbols: death is a journey that is "passing" or "return to God," the mystery or anything, but life itself is, it is called "the journey of our life," Dante or a pilgrimage, or the street. "I am the way, the truth and the life" (Jn 14:6), the Gospel says, and the mystery of
' existence, which in truth is beyond names, Lao-tze is Tao "Way." For Catherine of Siena "we are all travelers and pilgrims," el ' man on earth, reminds us of Thomas ' Aquino, is "so to speak on the way". According to the Upanishads we are like one who travels and wanders all over the world to find a treasure that is really hidden ... under his feet.
In short, the
' man viator , constitutively. If then the Abrahamic traditions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) must lead the way in "homeland", and this life is only a step to the final one, for others, especially d ' East, every step is all way, this is in the ' ever: "When you walk, walk" Zen saying goes. And on that many mystics (also Jewish, Christian and Muslim) would d ' Agreement.
Even the rites of passage, initiations are traveling, but on this we will focus particularly on the following pages. Even not too large displacements become programmatically, in our common speech, "travel". And move in a text is it not travel, auscultation, underline, Amarna a "step"? Another metaphor odeporica. And the very word "metaphor" from the greek metaphoréin , "carry" takes us back where we started.

The theme of the trip: between writing and story, myth, religion and literature

If
' -travel experience is so central, it is not surprising certo che essa da sempre sia al centro di racconti orali e scritti.
Ebbene il viaggio, l esodo, la fuga, l go, reach and / or the return are the focus of two great books, so different and yet so full of common suggestions. If Odysseus-Ulysses is the prototype of the traveler in the West and Abraham "the migrant" is the father of the three Abrahamic faiths that call from him, also traveling Jason and the Argonauts, Aeneas, Dante, in his mysterious Muhammad ascended to heaven, and traveling as a supernatural being disappears Lao-tze: riding a bull headed West, stopping only at the crossing of ' West, where he dictated to Yin Xi, the guardian of the pass, his famous book, Tao Te Ching . So also Lie-zi, the second great Taoist saint, who lived perhaps between the fifth and fourth centuries BC, "riding the wind shifted. He traveled so pleasant, and within a fifteen days came home" (Zhuang-zi). It traveled and wandered Gautama Buddha, before coming to ' roam and travel light and that was a downhill and a ' rise in the depths of reality.

Thousands and thousands of travel, an inexhaustible theme (and yet to be explored)

short, one could cite countless trips and countless travelers.
The issue is so important, vast, varied, similar and different, that ancient and modern take to write a book about small size is almost a gamble, a dangerous route, a "dubious step." Opera much larger and more voices deserve such an argument. Also
prospects through which many traveled are truly history, sociology, anthropology, history of religion, mythology, literature (comparative or not), economics, etc..
Just then a well-stocked library to access to numerous publications in various ways, dealing with travel: just think of the whole shelves devoted to tourist guides and the like.
However, if you search for large and complex investigations on the journey from the perspective of anthropology, sociology, religion and so on. there are many fewer titles than you might think.
Subsequently, in fact still seems to lack a real face on the theme of intercultural studies, addressing the trip in the various religions, mythologies, cultures, literatures, with a view of dialogue.
short, much remains to do, to explore, it is appropriate to say, traveling.

The mystical journey and initiation in the different traditions

The delimitation of the research field is therefore more necessary than ever.
Hence our choice to take care of a particular form of travel, these myths, religious traditions, but also in literature of all time: the mystical journey and initiation. We could also call it, without adequate explanations, inner journey, symbolic.
If "the
' initiation is ' human experience par excellence" and is "a universal practice" (Mircea Eliade) is well way to deal with today, when global tourism brings in some few hours from one end to ' else in the world, but could always ' uniformity, the ' homogenization, superficiality.
The initiatory journey instead constantly calls us to go deeper, of ourselves, of
' other and reality.

Cos
' is a journey of initiation?

What's
' meant by initiatory journey? And so ' is a ' initiation?
The term "initiation" comes from the Latin initiatio derived from initium , and in turn from the verb in -eo ("come in, start"). And
' initiation is a "new life", a rebirth, a step-or a series of steps, in stages, just like a trip - which involves the crossing of one or more thresholds el ' entry into another level of consciousness, a new state of life. Moreover
is constitutive of
' man
the desire to open up to a more authentic life, a life that escapes the banality, a life in which we overcome the limits of time and space that seem to hold so the prisoner
' human existence. This desire is usually related to the belief that we need a sacred act, a sacrifice to be able to achieve. We think here in what historians religions are wont to call initiation, the rite by which a person passes by ' appearance to reality, from ' illusion to the truth, adolescent life to life in its fullness ; initiation that can be compared to the true or the second birth.
L ' initiation is not something exotic, enigmatic, a phenomenon that magic shop : to be started is to give quality to life, live it fully, through an inexhaustible inner work, but also with receptive openness to the mystery, to grace, the spirit which blows where it wants. In this sense ' initiation is not just for the few, but is available to all, which does not mean it's cheap.

the mystical journey of initiation and the second Eliade, and Campbell Mazzarella

According to Mircea Eliade, the initiation is a process designed to achieve the transition from one psychological state of being considered less than a higher one. It is equivalent to a mutation of the ontological scheme of existence. At the end of the process, the neophyte receives a life completely different than before: it has become another. To achieve this metamorphosis novices are subjected to a series of tests, which involve in fact, more or less transparent, a death ritual, initiation, followed by a resurrection and a new birth.
Other important and often applicants are:
a) preparation (physical, psychological, spiritual) to the trip;
b) a sacred place (mountain, cave, maze etc.).
c)
' importance the guide, one or more instructors or mystagogues;
d) the issue of
' error (often caused by immaturity, inexperience);
and) the sacrifice and / or ritual;
f) the mystic nuptials, the hierogamy (with the divine principle etc...)
Similarly, different, the Dante scholar Adriana Mazzarella identifies the following characteristics of the initiatory journey:
a) evidence of great physical effort and / or to overcome psychological and spiritual;
b) indispensability of one or more guides (external and / or interior);
c) pass the death and resurrection, that the death of an old level of consciousness to rise to a new one;
d) travel through the three worlds present in all the esoteric traditions;
e) importance of a "ray Heaven, "a female principle mediator who can be physical, but also refers to other things: Wisdom, Sophia, inner female, feminine aspect of God, Shekinah , Buddhi etc.
f) union with the supreme principle as the end of the journey.
Finally, Joseph Campbell, describing the adventure of the hero as dynamic initiation, highlights three key stages, all
' inside of which is a whole range of possible developments. Thus we have:
1) the departure
2) the
' initiation;
3) return.
turn in the first stage we can find first) appeal from the ordinary world output; 1b) the refusal of the appeal; 1c) the supernatural help; 1d) crossing the first threshold; 1e) the "belly of the whale. " In the second: Second) tests; 2b) an encounter with the goddess, 2c) as the woman temptress; 2d) reconciliation with his father, 2e) the apotheosis; 2f) the ultimate gift. In the third, third) refusing to return; 3b) the escape magic, 3c) the help from the outside, 3d) crossing the threshold of return; 3e) Lord of two worlds; 3f) are free to live.

Initiation and mystical

As in the early Christian tradition in which the terms "initiation" and "mystical" were intimately connected, so we talked and mystical journey of initiation. With mystical here we emphasize some aspects of the experience told: a) it remains at least partly ineffable, despite all efforts to put it: the word refers to the silence, the mystery, b) is also an experience full of life, the mystic brings to live the fullness of life here and now (not only to defer an afterlife or eschatology), a life which is both body and soul and spirit, or matter, consciousness and the mystery of infinity (which some traditions - not all! - call it God). The mystique is in fact a holistic experience of life and not just an "expert of the divine", c) the man she lives in its fulfillment, which some traditions call God-like, other lighting, construction, etc.. (See theosis, nirvana, satori, moksha ).
the mystical journey of initiation and is also an inner journey, because it leads people who live in the depths of himself and all of reality. Interior does not mean nor imply that intimate outdoor living, travel outside so to speak, should be neglected. Internal and external, physical and spiritual journey are in union-dual. In this sense, the trip is symbolic, because it "throws together" etymologically the dimensions of reality, which is at once cosmic, human and divine (or cosmoteandrica).

size initiatory broad sense

We have briefly outlined the characteristics of the mystical journey and initiation. Of course, this involves research instances described in the examples, which are the Comedy of Dante, the story of Gautama Buddha, the Vedic myth of Shunahshepa etc.. Not necessarily they are all present in the same story and are naturally declined, and lived according to the culture, tradition examined.
However, the category of initiatory journey is here used in a broad sense (sensu side), not bound by classifications ethnographic, anthropological, religious, etc.. Which are certainly legitimate and important, but not within the scope of this booklet, whose cut as it is "speech", but also existential wisdom. We are interested
in short, how well a broad sense initiatory dimension is present, explicit or latent, in many of the major texts studied, as, on the other, in any real journey, in every life lived in depth. In fact, each "myth" - understood here in its etymological meaning and enlarged the "sacred story" - tells the transforming experience, not only intellectual but of our whole life, and it's called. The size initiatory thus understood is therefore profound search for meaning (of self and reality), truth, transformation, meeting.
why we say that every major text (even literary) has in itself an initiatory dimension to see, read and live. In some cases it may also be told the truth with a figurative journey is, for example The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Stevenson is a kind of anti-manual initiation. That sense a lot of literature in XX century (to which we will do only a brief mention) is inhabited by that nostalgia Initiation. It, in our technological world, globalized and paneconomicista, has become very difficult, problematic, if not actually impossible. Yet the great novels and poems the great chase, the singing, try, even in vain, to find her.
In short, the initiatory experience, especially designed broad sense, is the heritage and not all of the elite more or less esoteric (although it has existed and may yet give a 'secret initiation ").

Map intercultural test and the mystery of

The intercultural dimension of our journey along this "little way". On the one hand, literally, because we are facing worlds near and far, and our
the Bible, the archetype odissiaco (from Homer to Dante to postmodern odyssey of Thomas Pynchon), with nods to the trip in kabbalah and Islamic mysticism, but also it would address other horizons and other world view, different from our Western and Judeo-Christian-Islamic here, then the great myth of Vedic Shunahshepa, the path of Buddha, the journey to the reawakening of Mani and the descent into the underworld of Bantu mythology.
Obviously it is not easy to multiculturalism, much less to folklore, but the awareness that only through meaningful dialogue between the traditions you can find a creative meeting and perhaps also of innovative solutions for our troubled period. The dialogue of which we speak has initiatory nature itself: it implies a profound transformation of those who experience it, even a kind of death to their own beliefs to enter into a relationship of mutual fertilization with each other. The other is not so much the stranger, but how he wants the Latin etymology ( alter ), "the other two," the other side of me. " In short, the mystery of the other reveals to me. The other is my experience of revelation, as I can be for him.

Un'interculturalità across the

Still, though: the intercultural dimension is understood here in a broader sense than ever (as the initiatory journey). That is not only
intercultural encounter with the "other culture" (eg Asia, Africa, etc...) L’interculturalità combining internal and external environment and is therefore also intra-cultural.
In this sense, re-read their founding texts (eg the Bible, the Odyssey, the Aeneid, Comedy etc..) In light of initiatory mystical dimension and fruitful dialogue with other world view is a strong cultural moment.
Back to my "culture" fertilized by a long stay in contact with "others" and reread "the tree of my origins," deeper, with more width, not uproot it, but remembering also that the roots have trunk, stem and fruits, and branches that reach out of "my" tree goes in directions that perhaps I had expected or had not seen before. If the sun rises East, my plant will naturally turn.
Everything is interconnected.

Commitment Of Employment Letter

WHAT NEXT?

... global industry and meat products. Powerful industry, the second turnover after that of oil, always growing, and root cause of the devastation of our ethics and our planet. There are women and men engaged in first person against hunger in the world who ignore, or pretend to ignore the inextricable link between poverty and livestock, other people involved in sustainability and ecology who naively think that the Earth could hold billions of organically reared livestock to feed the huge human population worldwide.

UN: "The vegan diet will save the world" The stupid prejudices

farms are causing deforestation and greenhouse gas

The United Nations for the first time show the transition to a diet free of animal products such as the way forward to resolve food and environmental problems facing the planet.
The unique position, which mirrors what many environmental and animal welfare groups say some time, when they stress the good Ragoni not only ethical, but also ecological, to switch to a vegan diet, read the latest report released by the ' Unap, the UN Environment Programme, published last June 2. The conclusions of the study entitled "Assessing the Environmental Impacts of Consumption and Production", scientists warn about the risks of perspective in which the increase in world population during the match increased consumption of meat, fish, milk and eggs, which would have devastating environmental consequences preventable with only a drastic change in eating habits throughout the world and the renunciation of the use, by all animal products.
According to projections published this year by the FAO, in fact, the current cultural model and the spread of established western lifestyle will bring meat production to more than double by 2050 (coming from the current 228 million tonnes to 463 million).
Without a reversal, it will be a real environmental disaster whose effects are calculable right now, given the unsustainability of the model that emerges from all the data highlighted in the reports of 'intergovernmental organization, without but never emerged from this knowledge are concrete policy initiatives. The UN report indicates
animal husbandry among the first voices of the priorities to be addressed in the near future, recognizing animal husbandry as a source of the primary causes of pollution and global warming, which causes environmental more damage than the production of building materials such as sand and cement and materials such as plastic and metal, and stresses that crops for animal feed are harmful as the consumption of fossil fuels. But
animal husbandry is, above all, one of the areas in which greater waste of resources. Strictly in terms of energy, in fact, as explained in detail the Niece (Nutricion Ecology International Center), the breeding of animals "farm" is one of the investments are less profitable and the animals are like "protein factories down" since the operation of their metabolism causes the capital invested in the production of meat is then returned in a dramatically lower. Suffice it to say that
need 25 kcal of corn to make one kcal of beef, 11 times more than the energy required for the production of wheat, which amounts to about 2.2 kcal. And the ratio is 57:1 for the lamb, for beef 40:1, 39:1 for eggs, 14:1 for milk and pork for the turkey 10:1, 4: 1 for the chicken.
And while the livestock sector consumes the calories that could feed the people of the South, is even worse with the water that wears away, because, in addition to 8% of drinking water worldwide is used for watering the animals directly inmates farms, is the enormous amount necessaria per coltivare i foraggi che li nutrono.

... Still further, there are then many of my friends, relatives, all those who in these years I thought it would be very easy to get involved.
Basically just look at some things, read four lines, document 10 minutes to realize in horror that the animals live.

.... Their need to ham it is so ingrained in their head from poor have turned into a sort of right ham.

What is the maximum that can be granted to a person informed and moderately intelligent to revolutionize your eating habits?

The second issue of the bimonthly HISTORY TRUTH 'The Geopolitics of Romania in accordance

EDITORIAL

Sex and Power is the main theme of this second issue of the bimonthly HISTORY TRUTH '. One issue apparently 'light', perhaps to some embarrassing, but definitely 'historic' and truthful, that is the bearer of useful data for understanding the reality of some important events in the ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary. This our scelta – teniamo a precisarlo – non va ricondotta ad un mero prurito culturale, o peggio, ad una provocazione furba e tale da cavalcare i tempi attuali (si pensi alle note vicende berlusconiane a sfondo sessuale), bensì ad una specifica necessità, quella di fare chiarezza e indagine seria su fatti storici condizionati dal binomio Sesso e Potere, anche perché nel corso della Storia la vicinanza di questi due fattori ha indirizzato scelte di uomini e donne, contribuendo a tracciare il solco degli eventi vissuti dall’intera umana specie. Bando dunque alle facili, anche se lecite, critiche che giungeranno sulle nostre teste e soprattutto agli attacchi moralisti tanto utilizzati dagli alfieri del ‘politicamente corretto’ and a supporter of historiography 'earnest' (but often not 'serious') and, if permitted, terribly tedious. The culture is made - we believe - even with a smile on his lips, in full gaiety (as is our style), and not necessarily with the hair-shirt or frowning face and forehead wrinkles marked by aching pain of an incomprehensible exercised in the name of humanity to be saved at all costs: facial features - I'd say almost characteristic psycho-anthropological - of 'homo sapiens sinistrensis, that the intellectual' progressive 'of that culture that is not only a room to know' scholar ', but a means annoiare il prossimo e allontanare i giovani dalla Storia. E poi a seguire: Donne ideologiche, Donne consigliere, Donne spia e ‘semplici’ (si fa per dire) Donne-mogli, by virtue of their love and their refined intellect (think like an empress Theodora, wife of Justinian) helped to raise much of its glory - and probably capable - companions. In short: Gender and Power understood as a bond, as required, as frequently the case, as an opportunity for development, but also of tragedy. A few words now about the structure of this issue of HISTORY TRUTH ' (increased from 56 to 60 pages). Faithful to the 'make history' without boring and Culture, the Management has seen fit to enrich and break the head with some regular column and devices to make the reader catch his breath: strange pictures, books to be discovered, aphorisms impossible, and so on. We hope that our efforts are appreciated, as we hope they are all appreciated the excellent service to follow in the second part of this issue: a variety of articles, chosen to complement the already hot temper and desc (Sex and Power) through thoughts, we say ' digestive ', on the facts and events, perhaps more subtle and traditional, at least in appearance, but in any event in history is history. But we prefer, in this regard, not to anticipate anything, the surprise to you. And good reading at all.

Does Hydrochlorides Cause Frequent Urination

Dopo soli 15 giorni,nuovo turno in ospedale.. sabato mattina, guardo con un solo occhio l'orologio: LE OTTO!!!!! realizzo che non mi è sounded the alarm and start the race against the clock .. I put the wings to the car, parking the car at the hospital at 8:42! I run to the cabinets, while meeting a lady who I look at the shirts and I said, "Good !!!!!" Carnival

I finally manage to find Cloud. We start the round with me that I sit in a chair for me to move out of breath. Levies very crowded room, talking with a young pregnant mother with a high school teacher, a lady who has lived in Sweden a few years, all available for interview, a couple of balloons to two children, luckily only accompaniment. Cloud talks to a man she had met in person Toto!
Dialysis: people tired enough, I focus on a gentleman who told me that he worked for 40 years in his own construction company, talks a lot about his experience in construction, I am charmed, I listen open-mouthed as the one spoken of is just I do what I want to be great .. port the next time a pen and paper for taking notes .. We talk a lot, I learn, he spends his time, thank him and salute him.
Pediatrics: not crowded with children, although more very tiny, we talk with young mothers. In the game room we meet a child that I recognize now, having seen the first 15 days there in the hospital bed with the flu. He's afraid of us, hiding behind the chair, I try to approach him but he does not give up. What we're talking with parents, a bit 'worried about their son from the previous afternoon he can not walk. Round quiet even if it started running

Romania has given the world, especially in the twentieth century, a whole galaxy of world-class genes: Nae Ionescu, Mircea Eliade , Emil Cioran , Eugen Ionescu , Ştefan Lupaşcu , Jean Pârvulescu , Vasile Lovinescu , Mihail Vâlsan e molti altri.

In his essay on Mircea Eliade Eurasia unit, referring to the nature of the Eurasian culture of Romania, Claudio Mutti cites Eliade: "I was inherit the descendant of a culture interesting because it lies between two worlds: the Western, purely European, and Oriental. Involvement of these two universes. West because of the language, Latin, and because of the Roman heritage and customs. But also participated in a culture influenced by East and rooted in the Neolithic. This is true for a Rumanian, but I'm sure it's the same for a Bulgarian, a Serbo-Croatian - short for the Balkans, South-East Europe - and part of Russia "(M. Eliade, The épreuve du Labyrinthe. Entretiens avec Claude-Henri Rocquet , Belfond Pierre, Paris 1978 , pp. 26-27).

identity Romania presents a symbiosis between carriers of eastern and western civilization, without which one take precedence over others. Therein lies the uniqueness of Romania as a society and as a territory and Romanians as a people. Romania and the Romanians were divided between the empires of the East (the Ottoman Empire) and West (the Austro-Hungarian Empire), belonging the Orthodox Church of Byzantine rite and the Latin family of peoples.

Eurasianists For Russians, this is just one of the possible approaches, since they take into account a combination of coordinates in the western and eastern culture and Russian history, claiming a specific identity of the Russian people and the State Russian.

Then, in the framework of Russian-Rumanian cultural dialogue should be considered the doctrine dell'eurasiatismo, which is autonomous, however, thanks to the variety and proportions of which it has, gives us a solid basis for mutual approach, and an understanding e un’amicizia reciproche.

New empire', which complement those we have hitherto known as "nation states". In our world, or will by the sovereign nation-states (like in the sixteenth and the twentieth century) to the world government (unipolar world) or will be the transition to a new empire (multipolar world).

In both cases, the size of Romania as a state does not allow us to say - even in theory - that Romania can become a "pole", even Russia, with its nuclear capability, its natural risorsse messianism and its history, is in a similar situation.

The adoption of the American model of unipolar domination, which rejects the sovereignty of Europe, involves also for Romania as a part of Europe.

therefore familiar with the geopolitical issues is not something necessary and vital, but the topic must be taken into consideration when it comes to expanding the intellectual horizons.

In truth, if we take into account what we said above in connection with the Romanians' contribution to science and culture of Europe, geopolitics could be a very important basis for determining the role and functions of Romania in the European context. There is therefore no accident that the geopolitical perspective occupies a significant part in the novels of quell'Europeo copy which was an excellent writer Jean Franco-Rumanian Pârvulescu, essayist, poet and deep thinker.

The dilemma of European geopolitics can be attributed to a choice between the Euro-Atlantic (recognition of dependence on Washington) el'eurocontinentalismo. In the first case, Europe give up its sovereignty in favor of 'big brother' ultramarine, while in the latter case it insists on its sovereignty (a model to organize its geopolitical and geostrategic). This option is not completely defined at the theoretical and depends on each of the countries of the European Union, and also from Romania. For this reason, it has to do with the geopolitics of Romania in the strict sense of the term, in the current environment requires a conscious and active participation in the choice of the future: dependence or independence, allegiance or sovereignty, Atlantic and continental .

A geopolitics of the "cordon sanitaire"

the question of geopolitics in Europe you can find the following pattern: there are countries of "New Europe (New Europe), Eastern European countries that tend to take tough positions Russophobe, thereby joining Euro-Atlantic orientation, delimiter and estranged from the current trends of the old continental Europe, primarily France and Germany (Britain is traditionally allied with the U.S.).

This has a long history. Eastern Europe was always an area of dispute between Europe and Russia: we have an example of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century, when Britain deliberately used this region as a "cordon sanitaire" to prevent a can alliance between Russia and Germany, an alliance that would put an end to the Anglo-Saxon domination of the world. Today you still experience the same thing, except that now the emphasis is placed on energy projects and the countries of the 'cordon sanitaire' claims is the argument that it would also be a rematch for the 'Soviet occupation 'of the twentieth century. Topics new geopolitical old.

Romania is a country of "New Europe" and then objectively part of that "cordon sanitaire". Consequently, the choice of geopolitical Romania is as follows: either take the side of the continent, as essa è un Paese di antica identità europea, o attestarsi su posizioni atlantiste, adempiendo in tal modo alla funzione di « cordone sanitario » assegnatole dagli USA.

How can we understand, in this situation, the project of construction of geopolitical nationalist Romania, a project similar to the one known as the "Great Romania"? First is the historical trend to build the Rumanian national state, a trend that developed in different historical and geopolitical conditions. Here we recall the history, from ancient Geto-Dacian and quoting Burebista and Decebal. Later arose the principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia, state formations that existed independently until the Ottoman conquest.

Let us also mention Michael the Brave, that at the beginning of the seventeenth century created the union of Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania. It was only in the nineteenth century that Romania won its national statehood, which was recognized in 1878 at the Congress of Berlin. The strategic importance of Romania was due, even in the attainment of independence from the surrounding geopolitical forces. Sovereignty was a relative and fragile, depending on the balance of power abroad, including South (Ottoman Empire), West (Austria-Hungary, Germany, France, England) and East (Russia). Therefore, the objective of "Greater Romania" was a "national geo-political utopia," although he received an expression theoretical integral with the projects of construction of a state of Romania conservative theorists of the Iron Guard ( Corneliu Codreanu Zelea , Horia Sima), while in the period following the Realpolitik Bucharest was forced, by forces far greater than potential of Romania, to make a choice: Antonescu was attracted to Germany, Ceausescu to the Soviet Union.

to strengthen national identity, the 'national utopia "and also the' geopolitical utopia", it is extremely important not to give in any case the project "Greater Romania", but do not take into account the practical aspects of the geopolitical map of the image, as an appeal to the 'ideal' may be an element of manipulation, especially since Romania does not have, even from afar, the ability to defend, under these conditions, its sovereignty over the Greater Romania to potential geopolitical actors at global and regional (USA, Europe, Russia).

The exploitation of Rumanian nationalism from the Atlantic

One of the most obvious forms of exploitation of the idea of "Greater Romania" manifests itself today, when such an idea is used in the interests of the Atlantic. This has an obvious purpose: the Rumanian nationalism (perfectly legitimate and reasonable in itself) in Realpolitik appeals to the idea of integration of the Republic of Moldova. It would seem a natural thing. But this legitimate desire of the union of an ethnic group in one country at a time when Romania is a NATO member, Russia would move further towards the borders of this organization and, if so, the contradictions between Moscow and the EU European Union - and the West in general - exacerbation. In other words, the utopia of national "Greater Romania" becomes in practice a mere extension of the "cordon sanitaire", which would not be the case for the benefit of the European Union, but the U.S. and the Atlantic. In this context, the Atlantica project aims ultimately to deprive Europe of its sovereignty, indirectly showing his anti-European character or, at least, anticontinentalista.

integration of the Republic of Moldova is also added to Transnistria, and Russia is a strategic position in this region. From the strategic perspective, Transnistria is very important for Moscow not only as it is a lever on which it can act in the long term relations with the Republic of Moldova, but, more importantly, in view of the likely collapse of Ukraine and its division into two parts (Eastern and Western) that previously or later it will occur as a result of the policy of Kiev subsequent to the "Orange Revolution". In Foundations of geopolitics there is a chapter on the disintegration of Ukraine. The chapter has been written in the early nineties, but after the "Orange Revolution" of 2004, this geopolitical analysis has become more accurate, more precise. At one stage, Transnistria will become a major Russia's base in the region. In this perspective, the Greater Romania becomes an obstacle, which strategists Atlanta had been planned from the beginning.

Friction between Romania and Hungary, as well as some friction with the Ukraine, are not important for the Atlantic and this aspect of Rumanian nationalism will not have the support of the Atlantic, in less than a certain point in time U.S. did not think it can be used to destabilize the situation in the form of disintegration of Yugoslavia.

Focusing on the patriotic feelings of the Romanians, the operators of the geopolitical world will strive to achieve their specific objectives.

Romania in the framework of the Eurasia Project

Now you can submit, in a nutshell, the theoretical model for the participation of Romania in the Eurasia Project. This project assumes that in the northern part of the Eurasian continent will establish two geopolitical units, two "open spaces": the European countries and Russia. In such a picture, Europe is seen as a pole, as an area of civilization. In turn, Russia understands the South (Central Asia, Caucasus) and West (Belarus, eastern Ukraine, Crimea).

Tre Paesi dell’Europa orientale, possibilmente alleati others, could fulfill this task better than other countries: Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania. Bulgaria is an EU member, is inhabited by a Slavic and Orthodox population. Serbia is not an EU member, is inhabited by Slavs, is Orthodox and traditionally sympathetic to Russia. Finally, Romania: Orthodox country, with its metaphysical mission and a greater responsibility for the fate of Europe. In the same way, but with some variations, one could speak of Greece.

Senza alcun dubbio, questo progetto richiede un’analisi attenta e deve costituire il risultato di uno sforzo intellettuale very seriously by the elite of Romania, European and Russian.

work Corrections: The Fundamentals of Geopolitics

The book was written for Russian readers, but, as evidenced by his numerous translations and editions in other languages - especially in turkish, Arabic, Georgian, Serbian, etc.. - It has also attracted interest outside the borders of Russia. Do not forget that it was written in the nineties of the last century for those Russians who, in the climate and the general confusion of liberal reforms and expansion of the West, had lost the ideal National, mostly, in fact, it reflects the international reality of that period. Beyond this, however, the work contains references to the essential constants of geopolitics - which are identical in every age - and, in particular, the Eurasian space.

The principles enunciated in the fundamentals of geopolitics have been developed and applied to new historical realities of the early twenty-first century and are found in my later works: Eurasia Project, Eurasia Foundations, The postmodern geopolitical , etc. The fourth political theory.

The fundamentals of geopolitics is characterized by the presentation of the basic geopolitical method applied to the case of Eurasia.

At various times after its publication, the text of the fundamentals of geopolitics has been revised, each time under the influence of events in the making, and this has led to clarify certain points of view. First, the author has revised its attitude towards Turkey's position initially negative due to Turkey's membership of NATO and of the action took place in the nineties by the Turkish activities in the CIS. For now, opinion is divided, not only political elite but also among the population. This is also reflected in the case of some Turkish political leaders (eg, General Tuncer Kilinc), who consider the possibility of withdrawing from NATO, Turkey and bring Turkey closer to Russia, Iran and China in the new multipolar context.

of this evolution of Turkish politics there is no trace in the fundamentals of geopolitics, that argument is completely dedicated to the recent work Ankara-Moscow Axis. Despite the anti-Turkish songs, the Turks have shown interest in the fundamentals of geopolitics, that have become a reference text and a real manual for political and military leaders, opening a new perspective on the world, not just to the West, but also to the East

Similarly, in the book are not considered a victory for Moscow to Chechnya, the events in New York on 11 September 2001, attempts to create a Paris-Berlin-Moscow when the U.S. invasion in Iraq, Kosovo's secession and war Russian-Georgian in August 2008.

Nevertheless, the careful reader of the methods presented in the fundamentals of geopolitics will be able to carry out its own analysis Eurasia in connection with the Project. Geopolitics is able to answer the questions "what" and "where" and ensuring that answers are as accurate as possible. But, with regard to a given point in the future, you understand that the weather may not be as stringent. Geopolitics describes the framework of manifestation of the events connected with the space, but also the conditions and limitations of ongoing processes. As we know, history is always an open question, to which the events may take place in their framework and will be made manifest in different ways. Certainly, the events took place along the geopolitical logic, to depart from or even sometimes to move to a contrary direction. But even these removals to contain an explanation and a geopolitical sense, implying a whole series of forces, each of which tends to take over the processes and events to their advantage. why different methods are used outside the army, which in past decades had a major role, but now is a more efficient role played by the "network" army (war of networks), the latter aims to establish control on the opponent even before the confrontation, through the so-called "action of base effects." In this "war of the networks' knowledge or ignorance the laws of geopolitics (and of course all the effects connected) is crucial.

So it's no wonder that the very people who benefit most from the fruits of geopolitics, in answer to the question about the seriousness of the latter, in principle, they refuse to submit to its rigors .
