The good parent pointed out that such a humiliating result could have been avoided had they respected the others, property, law, God and so on throughout the list of the restrictions of civilized life.
The second level of respect is almost sublime, because it comes from within. Not forced by threats of retaliation. We like to respect others because you learned that you reap what you sow, and if you treat others with respect, others respect you. The days in which to discover this great little truth - that is the day when you can say to be an adult.
